Use of receptor-mediated endocytosis as a natural mechanism for targeting substances to specific cell-types.

  1. Targeted gene delivery for correction of genetic metabolic disorders.
  2. Development of antisense and ribozyme strategies for treatment of viral diseases.
  3. Modification of viruses to alter infection specificity.
