D.M.D./Ph.D. Program
Students and Alumni/Alumna
Currently, we have ten students enrolled in the combined degree
program: Ms Taranpreet Chandhoke, Ms. Jessica Costa-Guda, Ms. Jackie
Sobota, Mr. John O’Donnell, Mr. Colin Kong, Ms. Kathy Elias, Mr. Reza
Fatahi, Mr. Graham Garber, Ms. Ami Amini and Ms. Ashley Amini. To date,
five students have graduated from the program: Dr. Jeanne Nervina
(UCLA), Dr. Lorin Sher (UCONN), Dr. Rebecca Cochrane (Connecticut), Dr.
Tyson Bross (Pittsburgh) and Dr. Dharmini Pathmanathan (UCLA).
Taranpreet Chandhoke
Principle Advisor: Dr. Barbara Kream in the Skeletal, Craniofacial and
Oral Biology area of concentration. Preeti is in the final year of the
program, and is expected to receive both degrees in May, 2008.
Jessica Costa-Guda
Principle Advisor: Dr. Andrew Arnold in the Skeletal, Craniofacial and
Oral Biology area of concentration. Jessica has completed her PhD, and
is in year 03 of her DMD curriculum. She is expected to receive her
degrees in May, 2009.
Jackie Sobota
Principle Advisor: Dr. Richard Mains in the Neuroscience area of
concentration. . Jessica has completed her PhD, and is in year 03 of her
DMD curriculum. She is expected to receive her degrees in May, 2009.
Jackie successfully competed for an F-30 individual training grant from
NIH.
John O’Donnell
Principle Advisor: William Mohler, Cell Biology area of concentration.
John has completed two years of his DMD curriculum and is in the final
year of his PhD curriculum. It is expected that John will receive his
degrees in May, 2010.
Colin Kong
Principle Advisor: Dr. Marc Hansen in the Skeletal, Craniofacial and
Oral Biology area of concentration. Colin has completed 2 years of the
DMD curriculum and is in the third year of the PhD program. . Colin is
expected to receive his degrees in May, 2011.
Colin successfully competed for an F-30 individual training grant from
NIH.
Kathy Elias
Principal Advisors: Dr. Mina Mina and Dr. Barbara Kream, Skeletal,
Craniofacial and Oral Biology area of concentration. Kathy has completed
2 years of the DMD curriculum and is in the second year of her PhD
curriculum.
Reza Fatahi
Principle Advisor: Dr. Mina Mina, Skeletal, Craniofacial and Oral
Biology area of concentration. Reza has completed 2 years of the DMD
curriculum and is in the first year of his PhD curriculum.
Graham Garber
Principle Advisor: Dr. Steven Helfand, Developmental Biology area of
concentration. Graham has completed 3 years of his PhD program, and is
presently in the first year of the DMD curriculum.
Ami Amini
Ami is a first year student in the DMD curriculum.
Ashley Amini
Ashley is a first year student in the DMD curriculum. |
